Save Seven Lives
The project sensitises the public about the great need for organ donors – through art – as few people realise that one donor can save seven lives.
SANAVA launched its ‘Save Seven Lives’ project in 2014. The project sensitises the public about the great need for organ donors – through art – as very few people realise that one donor can save seven lives.
One healthy person can donate up to seven organs – one heart, two lungs, two kidneys, one liver and one pancreas – to help seven people get a new lease of life.
The project was triggered when well-known Pretoria sculptor and member of the Association of Arts Pretoria, Sanna Swart, donated a kidney to a friend, locally known opera singer Rex Negrini, who had been suffering for many years of a kidney disease.
