Museum Cards
SANAVA’s membership to the International Association of Art means we can issue museum cards to branch members travelling abroad. The process has now been streamlined and the cards are made available on demand.
About
The International Association of Art (IAA) has been affiliated to UNESCO as a non-governmental organisation (NGO) since 1954 and is recognised as the only international professional association in the field of visual arts. SANAVA is a member of the IAA.
The IAA card is recognised and accepted by museums and art institutions around the world and is an important tool for the artists in their professional artistic research. These institutions recognise the benefit they gain from enabling the artists (in the same way as art critics and art journalists) to visit exhibitions, art events and collections of art, to carry on research and to gain inspiration.
Purpose of the IAA card
The IAA Card (International Identity Card for Professional Artists) grants to its holder free admission or price reduction to/in many museums, galleries and cultural institutions around the world. It is seen as a tool for the lifelong education of artists.
How to apply
Email the SANAVA secretary at info@sanava.co.za with the following:
- Proof of membership from your branch
- ID photo (jpg)
- Digital signature (jpg / png – black on white)
